Advantages

AR6 & AR17 Extruded Aluminium security roller shutters are sleek and unobtrusive in design. Integrating a Compact German Box System (tailored overhead pelmet) leaves doorways, entrances and mall throughways completely unobstructed as the shutter rolls up and into its compact pelmet box.

Both extrusions are a double walled shutter and have a wall thickness of 1.2mm for extra strength. They slide into extruded aluminium tracks that are three times the strength and thickness of conventional side guides which also provide a solid anchoring point to effectively lock the curtain in position for extra security.

The extruded profiles can be operated manually by means of a pull down key lock system, or motorised for ease of use by means of a flick switch, key switch or remote control.

Our in house powder coating facilities allow you to choose colours from the entire Dulux range.

Constant quality and sample testing of the finished product is performed to guarantee its conformity with manufacturing standards.

Operation

AR6 & AR17 extruded aluminium roller shutters can be manually operated, although motorisation can be adapted in almost every instance. An assist torsion spring is designed to counterbalance the weight of the door promoting ease of use. A ‘D’ handle can be fitted to assist in the raising and lowering of the extruded roller shutter.

Larger roller shutters will require the assistance of space saving direct drive tubular motors (slide into the axle), which makes operating the security shutter as simple as flicking a switch, using a remote control or turning a key switch.

AR-32 & SAR-132

Commercial roller shutters are typically used to secure most commercial applications. They are ideal for securing schools, sporting pavilions, hospitals, shop fronts, entrances and alcoves, kiosks, storage areas and shelving and serveries.
Adapting this shutter system to domestic applications allows the homeowner to cover very large window, doorway, pergola and veranda openings using one shutter, alleviating the unsightly need for centre mullions. Verandas and Pergolas can now be used as a secure additional room, protected play areas or entertaining areas.

Advantages

The AR32 Roller Shutter with a standard density core is designed to cover widths of up to 4.2 metres in one span whereas the SAR132 with a high-density polyurethane core is designed to cover widths of up to 4.8 metres. Unlimited spans can be achieved by permanent or in most instances removable mullions.

These wide span security shutters are sleek and unobtrusive in design. Integrating a Compact German Box System (tailored overhead pelmet) leaves doorways, entrances and window areas completely unobstructed as the shutter rolls up and into its compact pelmet box.

Bulkheads and specifically the lack of room has been a key issue and most retailers, shopfitters, builders and architects are searching for security rollers shutters that provide a compact roll diameter. Both these shutter profiles roll onto axles of 60mm and up to 102mm in diameter overcoming most bulkhead restrictions or can be incorporated with Eurotec’s Compact German Box Pelmet system for any external roll diameter requirements.

The SAR132 security roller shutter systems has an additional feature of security storm clips which are screwed into the high density polyurethane core, locking into the inside of the 80mm extruded tracking system satisfying the demand for extra strength and security in high wind areas.

The high-density core is so rigid there is very little deflection and combined with storm clips makes it one of the strongest roll formed security roller shutters on the market.

Constant quality and sample testing of the finished product is performed to guarantee its conformity with manufacturing standards.

    frequently asked questions

What is the difference between domestic and commercial roller shutters?

Domestic and commercial roller shutters are similar in function but differ in their design, construction, and intended use.

Domestic roller shutters are typically used in homes or small buildings, such as garages, sheds, or storage units. They are designed to provide security and protection against weather and intruders, and can be manually or electrically operated. Domestic roller shutters are usually made of roll formed materials, such as aluminium, and are available in a variety of colours and styles to suit the aesthetics of the home.

Commercial roller shutters, on the other hand, are designed for use in larger buildings, such as warehouses, storefronts, or industrial facilities. They are typically made of heavy-duty materials, such as extruded aluminium, and are designed to provide enhanced security and protection against damage from weather, vandalism, or other forms of external damage. Commercial roller shutters may also be electrically operated and can include features such as automatic locking systems, remote control operation, and sensors for detecting intruders or environmental conditions.

In summary, the main differences between domestic and commercial roller shutters are their size, materials, and intended use. Domestic roller shutters are designed for use in homes and small buildings, while commercial roller shutters are intended for use in larger commercial or industrial settings. Commercial roller shutters are typically made of heavier-duty materials and provide greater security and protection than domestic roller shutters.

How long will a commercial roller shutter last?

The lifespan of a commercial roller shutter can vary depending on several factors, such as the quality of materials used, the frequency of use, and the maintenance schedule. However, a well-made and well-maintained commercial roller shutter can last anywhere from 10 to 20 years or more.

One of the most critical factors in determining the lifespan of a commercial roller shutter is the quality of the materials used in its construction. High-quality materials, such as high-grade steel and durable coatings, are more resistant to wear and tear, corrosion, and other forms of damage than cheaper, lower-quality materials.

Regular maintenance and servicing can also extend the lifespan of a commercial roller shutter. This may include cleaning and lubricating the mechanisms, inspecting and repairing any damage or wear and tear, and replacing any worn or damaged parts as needed.

Finally, the frequency of use can also affect the lifespan of a commercial roller shutter. If the shutter is used frequently, it may experience more wear and tear than one that is used less frequently.

How effective are commercial roller shutters in preventing theft?

Commercial roller shutters can be highly effective in preventing theft and other forms of unauthorized entry. These shutters are designed to provide a physical barrier between the outside world and the interior of the building, making it much more difficult for intruders to gain access.

One of the primary benefits of commercial roller shutters is their strength and durability. They are typically constructed from high-quality materials, such as steel, that are resistant to damage from physical force, cutting tools, and other forms of attack. This makes it much more difficult for intruders to force their way through the shutter, even if they attempt to use brute force or specialized tools.

Another benefit of commercial roller shutters is their flexibility and versatility. These shutters can be customized to fit almost any size or shape of opening, and they can be operated manually or electrically. This makes them an ideal solution for a wide range of commercial applications, from storefronts and warehouses to parking garages and loading docks.

In addition to their physical strength, commercial roller shutters can also be equipped with advanced security features, such as alarms, sensors, and automatic locking systems. These features can help to deter intruders and alert security personnel or law enforcement in the event of a break-in or other security breach.

In summary, commercial roller shutters can be highly effective in preventing theft and unauthorized entry. Their strength, durability, flexibility, and advanced security features make them a popular choice for commercial properties looking to enhance their security and protect their assets.

What materials are used in commercial roller shutters?

Commercial roller shutters are typically constructed from a variety of materials, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The most commonly used materials include:

    1. Steel: Steel is one of the most popular materials for commercial roller shutters due to its strength and durability. It is resistant to damage from physical force, cutting tools, and other forms of attack, making it an excellent choice for high-security applications.
    2. Aluminium: Aluminium is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant metal that is commonly used in commercial roller shutters. It is not as strong as steel, but it is still durable and can be customized to fit almost any size or shape of opening.
    3. PVC: PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is a type of plastic that is used in some commercial roller shutters. It is lightweight, easy to install, and relatively inexpensive, but it is not as durable as steel or aluminium and may not provide the same level of security.
    4. Polycarbonate: Polycarbonate is a type of plastic that is often used in commercial roller shutters due to its high impact resistance and shatterproof properties. It is not as strong as steel, but it is more flexible and can be a good choice for applications where impact resistance is a top priority.
    5. Glass: Some commercial roller shutters may be made of glass, which can provide a high level of visibility and aesthetics. However, glass is not as strong as other materials and may not provide the same level of security or durability.

In summary, the materials used in commercial roller shutters can vary depending on the specific needs of the application. Steel and aluminium are the most commonly used materials due to their strength and durability, but other materials such as PVC, polycarbonate, and glass may be used in certain situations.
